AEW Collision – September 13, 2025

Location: 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, PA

Context: One of the final build shows before All Out; the “Unified Championship Eliminator” tournament is underway; lots of tension between major players; big stipulations being set.

Storylines / Build-Up Going In

AEW is running a Unified Championship Eliminator Tournament: several matches on Collision will help fill the bracket for a Triple Threat at All Out, including qualifiers. Okada (the current Unified Champion) has to defend in these, so tonight’s performance is critical.

In the women’s division, there is a huge “$500,000 5-on-5 Tag Team Match” advertised, with high stakes. Toni Storm, the Women’s World Champion (“Timeless” Toni Storm), is doing commentary for that match.

MJF vs Mark Briscoe is being built with increasing heat; stipulations to be announced for All Out.

Advertised Matches Tonight

Here are the main matches we were promised for tonight’s show:

1. Kazuchika Okada (c) vs Michael Oku — AEW Unified Championship Eliminator / Qualifier

2. Konosuke Takeshita vs Anthony Bowens — another Eliminator match for the Unified title tournament.

3. $500,000 5-on-5 Women’s Tag — Jamie Hayter, Tay Melo, Anna Jay, Kris Statlander & Harley Cameron vs Megan Bayne, Penelope Ford, Thekla, Julia Hart & Skye Blue.

4. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs Adam Priest & “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington.

5. Also, appearances by MJF and Mark Briscoe; backstage / promo segments to advance their story.

Full Match Results & Key Spots

Here are the results of each match, with some of the more memorable spots and notable moves.

Ken “Big Bill” vs Max Caster (Caster’s Open Challenge)

A very short match. Big Bill dominated quickly, powering Caster down and finishing with one of his big power moves (a chokeslam or similar) early.

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs Adam Priest & “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington

FTR worked over Billington with tag team isolation. Priest and Billington had moments of offense: Billington showed off agility, Priest hit power moves. FTR turned it around mid-match, using their classic tandem offense (double suplexes, neckbreakers), and closed with their finishers.

Konosuke Takeshita vs Anthony Bowens (Unified Championship Qualifier)

Bowens opened strong: reverse slingblade, neckbreaker, dragon screw leg whip, flying crossbody to outside. Takeshita responded: blue thunder bomb, exploder, elbow strikes, then finished with “Raging Fire” after a sequence.

$500,000 5-on-5 Women’s Tag Match – Jamie Hayter, Tay Melo, Anna Jay, Kris Statlander & Harley Cameron vs Megan Bayne, Penelope Ford, Thekla, Julia Hart & Skye Blue

The match had chaotic multi-person spots: double teams, hot tags, dives. For example, Hayter vs Bayne early, then a lot of action with Jay & Ford. Anna Jay and Tay Melo featured some high risk dives. Thekla speared Anna Jay late to get the pin. After the match, a big brawl broke out, involving Toni Storm (on commentary), Mina Shirakawa, Queen Aminata and others. Storm Zero used on Thekla later in the melee.

Kazuchika Okada (c) vs Michael Oku (Unified Championship Qualifier / Title Match) Kazuchika Okada (retained)

Oku had strong offense: Fosbury Flop onto Okada on the floor, top-rope attempts, dropkicks, Boston Crab, thrust kick. Okada absorbed offense, countered several times, used a dropkick to send Oku into the barricade, followed by a tombstone piledriver, then finished with the Rainmaker lariat. After the match Takeshita made his entrance, pointing at Okada and/or the belt, emphasizing that he will be the next big challenge.

Other In-Ring / Backstage Segments & Appearances

Backstage / Promo: Mark Briscoe handed down the stipulations for his All Out match with MJF (details like time/place/stipulation being set).

Daniel Garcia & Jon Moxley teamed up under their “Death Riders” banner in a tag match (Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly vs Death Riders) though I could not find a detailed blow-by-blow of that match in the sources I checked. It appears to further establish Garcia’s alignment with Moxley and strengthen Death Riders’ credibility.

Aftermath / What This Means

Okada retains, putting him into the next round of the Unified title tournament. The post-match confrontation with Takeshita suggests Okada vs Takeshita will be one of the marquee matches at All Out.

Bowens shows he can hang in high-profile matches; Takeshita continues to look very strong and cunning. This furthers his arc of possibly breaking away from the role he’s been in (especially with the Don Callis influence).

The women’s tag match and post-match brawl push forward several feuds: Storm, Shirakawa, Queen Aminata, etc. Thekla looks strong as someone to watch (getting the pin in a big match, and being involved in major spots).

MJF vs Mark Briscoe match stipulation being officially revealed builds heat; fans will be interested to see how Briscoe responds, and whether outside interference factors (as per stip).

Full Match Result List (with Winners)

FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) defeated Adam Priest & “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington

Best Moments / Moves That Stood Out

Michael Oku’s Fosbury Flop onto Okada outside — aggressive high risk to set the tone.

Okada’s tombstone piledriver + Rainmaker finish. Classic “Okada finish sequence” working after absorbing offense.

Thekla’s spear to Anna Jay getting the pin in the women’s tag was a decisive moment.

Bowens’ dragon screw leg whip, slingblade and flying crossbody earlier in his match with Takeshita showed his variety.
