AEW Dynamite Live Results (02/21/2024)

AEW World Champion Samoa Joe teamed up with Swerve Strickland and Brian Cage to face “Hangman” Adam Page, Rob Van Dam, and HOOK. Plus, FTR battled Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli.

AEW Dynamite Results

Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli) vs. FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler)

Moxley and Wheeler start the bout and feel each other out. Castagnoli tags in and gains the upper hand. Wheeler and Castagnoli exchange blows. FTR briefly takes control, but Moxley gets the advantage. Harwood dumps Moxley with a back body drop and drops him with a suplex. Wheeler sends Moxley to the outside. Moxley and Wheeler go back and forth. Wheeler and Harwood clear the ring. The fight spills outside of the ring. Moxley dives onto Harwood at ringside. Wheeler slams Moxley into the steps.

FTR double-teams Moxley. The former champions remain in control. Moxley rallies with a lariat. Castagnoli tags in and clears house with a flurry of offense. Castagnoli suplexes both members of FTR. Moxley and Castagnoli plant Harwood with a stump piledriver on the floor. The BCC duo isolate Harwood. Harwood fires up and sends Castagnoli shoulder-first into the ring post. Moxley and Wheeler both tag in and square off. Wheeler gains momentum and gets a two-count with a sunset flip. Wheeler dumps Moxley with a brainbuster.

Castagnoli breaks up a Shatter Machine attempt. Harwood tags in, and FTR drops Moxley with a double-team. Harwood and Wheeler go for a superplex/splash combination, but Moxley counters. Moxley locks in the Bulldog choke, but Wheeler breaks it up. Harwood traps Moxley in a Sharpshooter while Castagnoli traps Wheeler in one. Harwood and Castagnoli release the holds and trade shots. Harwood hits a piledriver, but Moxley rolls him up for a near fall. FTR hits the Shatter Machine as the time limit expires.

Result: Time Limit Draw

FTR and Blackpool Combat Club brawl after the bell, and officials struggle to separate them.

Backstage, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy is asked about his hectic last few weeks. The doctor says he meets minimal medical clearance. Cassidy says he’s going to wrestle.

FTR is standing by backstage, and they say they would have won the match if they had a few more seconds. FTR issues the challenge for a rematch at AEW Revolution. Moxley and Castagnoli show up, and they argue as officials separate them.

Orange Cassidy vs. Mike Bennett (with Matt Taven)

Cassidy runs up the ramp during Bennett’s entrance and takes the fight to him and Taven. He gets Bennett in the ring and controls the action right away. Bennett rocks Cassidy with a stiff shot to the face. Bennett chops Cassidy and sends him into the corner. He suplexes Cassidy and grounds him. Cassidy rocks Bennett with Stun-dog Millionaire and floors him with a DDT. Roderick Strong comes out and distracts the referee. Bennett hits Cassidy below the belt and hits a piledriver for a two-count.

Cassidy rallies by sending Bennett into the steel steps. Bennett takes control again and Irish whips Cassidy, sending him crashing to the floor. Bennett puts on a commentary headset and talks some trash. Cassidy dives onto him twice. Bennett hits a Death Valley driver onto the floor. Cassidy nails him with the Orange Punch out of nowhere. Bennett spikes Cassidy with a piledriver. Cassidy and Bennett trade blows. Cassidy hits the Beach Break for the win.

Winner: Orange Cassidy

Matt Taven attacks Cassidy after the match. Roderick Strong joins in, but Jake Hager makes the save.

Backstage, Angelo Parker and Ruby Soho meet up for their date. A car rolls up, but it’s not for them. Ric Flair gets out of the car.

In an interview, Ric Flair says he’s disappointed that he’s not more involved. He meets with Matthew and Nicholas Jackson.

In-Ring Segment: Daniel Garcia

Daniel Garcia is asked about his match with Adam Copeland. Tony Schiavone says Copeland was not cleared to compete, and Garcia will challenge Christian Cage for the TNT Championship at AEW Revolution. Garcia discusses his road up to this point. He thanks the fans for their support. Garcia says he would have made Copeland tap out. He says he will see Copeland again, and when he does, he will have the TNT Championship. Garcia vows to take Cage down.

TNT Champion Christian Cage, alongside The Patriarchy, interrupts. He says Copeland will never get another shot at the title. Cage notes that Garcia has been on a great run. He says their match should not happen at AEW Revolution, as he does not think he’s ready. Cage says Garcia’s dancing is a distraction. Cage brings up Garcia’s childhood and his father, who passed away. Cage calls Garcia’s father a piece of crap and an alcoholic.

He says he wants to help Garcia realize his full potential. Cage tells Garcia he wants to be his father. Garcia threatens to put Cage in the ground. Nick Wayne comes to the ring, and Garcia fights him off. Killswitch comes down, but Matt Menard attacks him. Garcia and Menard stand tall as Cage looks on.

In an interview, “Hangman” Adam Page, HOOK, and Rob Van Dam preview the main event. Page gets heated as he makes it clear he wants to hurt Swerve Strickland.

Toni Storm vs. Sydni Winnell

Storm takes the fight to Winnell. Storm drops her and dominates. She hits the Storm Zero and locks in Deonna Purrazzo’s signature submission for the win.

Winner: Toni Storm

Deonna Purrazzo immediately makes her entrance as she cuts Storm’s celebration short.

Deonna Purrazzo vs. Madison Rayne

Purrazzo and Storm battle back and forth. Rayne slams Purrazzo into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Rayne grounds Purrazzo. Purrazzo fires up, and both women are down after they collide. Purrazzo drills Rayne. Purrazzo slams Rayne, and she lands hard. The referee briefly pauses the action, but Purrazzo locks in Toni Storm’s Break A Leg submission for the win.

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo

Toni Storm runs down, and Purrazzo rocks her with a kick. Mariah May distracts Purrazzo. Storm attacks her and locks in the Break A Leg.

In a promo, Darby Allin addresses the Young Bucks. He brings up an old picture of Sting and his sons. Allin says family is all that matters. Sting appears and agrees that family is all that matters. He says he has been going through a hard time, as his father passed away last week. Sting says his father was like a hero to him. He notes that makes him think about his own mortality. Sting says time catches up with everyone, and it caught him. He says that everything he has left, he’s bringing to Revolution, and the Young Bucks have a fight on their hands.

Wardlow comes to the ring. He says he has been pissed off for a long time, as he used to have people chanting his name, and he was the next big thing. Wardlow says the rocket that was put on his back was put on backwards, as he has been driven into the ground. Wardlow says people in the back should be fired because he has never had a world title shot. He references CM Punk and says he beat him so badly that his body is still breaking down. Wardlow says he choked out Samoa Joe, too.

Wardlow notes that he’s the best in the world, he’s better than you, and he is the uncrowned king of AEW. He says he has been starving, and he is done being fed scraps. Wardlow says nobody can stop him, and this is war.

The Bang Bang Scissor Gang celebrate their win on AEW Rampage. Tensions rise between the two trios, but Jay White pitches a match where he, Colten, and Billy team up on AEW Collision. Bowens says the Bang Bang Scissor Gang rules the world.

The broadcast team notes that Will Ospreay will be live on AEW Dynamite next week. Plus, Wardlow will compete in “Meat Madness” at AEW Revolution.

In a promo, Don Callis hypes up the Don Callis Family and calls Sammy Guevara a cuck.

Samoa Joe And Swerve Strickland Team Up On AEW Dynamite

Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Brian Cage vs. “Hangman” Adam Page, HOOK, and Rob Van Dam

Joe and HOOK start the bout and feel each other out. Joe drills HOOK with some stiff shots in the corner. Cage and RVD tag in. Strickland and Cage double-team RVD. RVD fires up with some kicks. Page tags in and squares off with Strickland. He takes the fight to Swerve, and HOOK pulls him away. HOOK drills Cage with some punches. Strickland and Cage take control again. Joe overpowers HOOK and maintains the advantage. Cage continues to ground HOOK as he slams him. HOOK rallies with a neckbreaker. RVD tags in and drops Cage and Swerve with kicks. He dives onto Cage and kicks Joe. The legend hits Rolling Thunder and rocks Cage with a kick.

RVD hits the Five-Star Frog Splash on Cage, but Cage breaks up the pin. Swerve drills Page with a kick. Cage and Joe drop RVD after a series of strikes. Strickland grounds RVD and controls the action. Joe’s team keeps the advantage. RVD rallies. Page and Cage tag in, and Hangman fires up with a flurry of offense. Joe drops Page with a big boot. The match breaks down as bodies are flying. HOOK locks in the Redrum, but Swerve breaks it up. Page drills Cage with the Buckshot Lariat. Joe, Page, and Swerve stare each other down. Joe sends Page to the outside and dives onto him. Swerve accidentally kicks Joe. Page slams Swerve through the broadcast table.

Page escapes the Muscle Buster. HOOK suplexes Joe. Cage shoves RVD off the top. Joe locks RVD in the Coquina Clutch, and he passes out.

Winners: Samoa Joe, Brian Cage, and Swerve Strickland

Samoa Joe celebrates while Swerve looks on to end the show.
