Match Results & Highlights

Jon Moxley def. Daniel Garcia

ree

A gritty back-and-forth battle: feeling-out exchanges, test of strength, and Moxley taking Garcia's leg for advantage

Garcia fired back with a dragon screw and stunning superplex

He hooked a single-leg crab and ankle lock, forcing Moxley to fight his way to the ropes

Moxley retaliated with a DDT on the steel steps and a cutter, then countered a submission attempt into a roll-up for the storybook win

Post-match: Moxley handed the mic to Wheeler Yuta and delivered a warning to Darby Allin—declining his All Out challenge on Moxley’s behalf

The uneasy stare-down between Garcia and Yuta set the stage for intrigue as Garcia tossed a chair in frustration

Story progression: Moxley remains dominant; Garcia’s performance hints at ambition tempered by misdirection. This match fueled rising tension between Death Riders and potential new factions.

Kris Statlander & Harley Cameron def. Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford

ree

Statlander established early control, using a delayed vertical suplex on Ford before tagging in Cameron

Bayne and Ford rallied with Branched tags and a powerful double moonsault attempt—but Statlander and Cameron botched the fallaway attempt in dramatic fashion

Climax saw Statlander hit a fisherman driver; Cameron tossed Bayne down for a crucifix armbar. Ford was forced to tap—giving Statlander & Cameron the win

Aftermath: Willow Nightingale rushed in to confront Statlander, and Bayne launched a post-match attack—setting up conflict in the division

Story progression: Statlander & Cameron's cohesion builds, while Bayne & Ford’s downfall wrinkles tension. The seeds for future feuds and potential betrayals were sown with Willow’s appearance.

The Don Callis Family def. BroDido & JetSpeed — All-Star 8-Man Tag

ree

Don Callis Family had the upper hand with opportunistic misdirection and teamwork

A dramatic intervention: Kenny Omega sprinted in, evening numbers alongside Hangman Page & JetSpeed, delivering their old tag finisher to Archer & Callis Family—giving fans nostalgic chills and crowd eruption.

Story progression: The Callis Family remains dominant, but potential cracks appear as allies of Hangman step in—hinting at future alignments and the strength of legacy bonds.

The Opps (c) def. Ricochet & GOA — AEW World Trios Championship

ree

The Opps retained their titles in a gritty matchup, showcasing cohesion versus high-flying offense from Ricochet & GOA

Story progression: The Opps' reign remains legitimate; next challengers must up their tactical game to dethrone the champs.

Falls Count Anywhere — Darby Allin vs. Claudio Castagnoli

ree

The show’s tipping point: a chaotic, boundaryless showdown with the entire 2300 Arena as the ring. (Specific blow-by-blow not yet available in early reports.)

Story progression: Their war escalates post-Forbidden Door, with this match continuing the narrative of Allin’s recklessness versus Castagnoli’s brutality.

Key Segments Outside the Ring

HOOK’s explosive return: Debuted a new entrance theme and surgically targeted Wheeler Yuta in a silent, impactful attack—marking his comeback and possible clash with The Opps

All Out match announcement: Adam Copeland & Christian Cage confronted FTR on-air, including a sneak attack on Stokely Hathaway—cementing their September 20 showdown

ree

Story progression: AEW continues layering narratives—HOOK’s return suggests new rivalries; Cope & Christian’s program with FTR ups the ante heading into All Out.

Mercedes Moné’s nine belt celebration

ree

Renee Paquette is in the ring with a table of Mercedes Moné’s titles and brings her out for a championship celebration. Moné says Ultimo Dragon had ten titles, and she is looking to smash that record.

Paquette brings up Alex Windsor, and Moné gets upset, saying Windsor has it out for her, saying that she was a better RevPro winner than she ever was, and talks about dancing with her man, Will Ospreay. Moné says if Windsor tries to mess with her, she’ll put her in a hospital bed beside Ospreay. She dances to end the segment. I like Moné a lot, but this was a complete and utter waste of time.

The Hangman Cometh… and he’s not alone!

ree

AEW World Champion Hangman Page makes his way to the ring. Page thanks Will Ospreay for everything he did for him this year and everything he’s done for AEW. Page says while Ospreay is gone, everyone will miss him, and hopefully, when he returns, he can challenge Page for the title.

Hangman says MJF had a shot at him at Forbidden Door and failed. Page says if MJF thinks about signing that contract, he will beat his ass before the ink is dry. This brings out Don Callis…again.

Callis details their history and says he wants that AEW World Title back in the Don Callis Family. Callis says it’s not a matter of if the Don Callis Family will take the title from him, but which one will do it.

Lance Archer, Josh Alexander, Hechicero, and Rocky Romero attack Hangman Page. JetSpeed comes out to try and even the odds, but gets overwhelmed until Kenny Omega saves the day. Omega and Hangman hit the Buckshot V-Trigger on Archer, and the good guys stand tall.

Closing Thoughts

AEW Dynamite on August 27 delivered a rich blend of in-ring warzones, character returns, and storyline accelerants. Moxley’s win and Garcia's near upset keeps momentum moving, while the women’s tag shook up alliances. HOOK’s return and the All Out tease hinted at explosive payoffs ahead.

Let me know if you'd like expansion on the Falls Count Anywhere match details once available—or need feature-style copies (e.g., “Top 5 Moments of Dynamite” or “Breaking Down the Women’s Division Rivalry”).
