AEW Files To Trademark "AEW WrestleDream"

All Elite Wrestling has filed for a new trademark.

Per records from the US Patent and Trademark Office, AEW filed to trademark “AEW WrestleDream” on April 19 for the purpose of “Conducting entertainment exhibitions in the nature of wrestling events; Entertainment services in the nature of production of wrestling programs and events; Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests.”

The trademark also noted the company’s intent to use the name for clothing, games, and more.

“Wrestle Dream” has some history in the wrestling world; WWF and Super World Sports (SWS) held the Wrestle Dream event in Japan in April 1991. In the main event, Hulk Hogan defeated Yoshiaki Yatsu to retain the WWF Championship. Among other bouts, Genichiro Tenryu beat Randy Savage, and George Takano defeated Bret Hart in a singles match.
