At tonights NXT live event in Pittsburgh, PA, Alex Shelley made his shocking debut and team with his partner KUSHIDA, to reform The Time Splitters. The team has not worked together in four years as the last match they had together was back on November 7th, 2015 against the former reDRAGON, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly back in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Shelley and KUSHIDA faced and defeated The Forgotten Sons in the opener of tonight's live event. It was announced on this week's NXT that The Time Splitters were participants in The Dusty Classic Tag Team tournament and would be going up against NXT UK's The Grizzled Young Veterans, Zac Gibson, and James Drake, The first NXT UK champions.
Shelley is a world-renowned star, wrestling in all of the biggest organizations accept for WWE. Shelley did wrestle for the promotion as an enhancement talent back on June 6, 2005, against Simon Dean, however, Shelley is best known for his career with Ring Of Honor Wrestling, IMPACT Wrestling (TNA), and New Japan Pro Wrestling. He is a former ROH and TNA and IWGP Tag team champion. To say he is a tag team specialist would be an understatement.
Shelley is one of the pioneers in the style of wrestling that we see today from around the world, innovating with his tag partners KUSHIDA in NJPW and Chris Sabin in ROH and TNA, Shelley has entertained the masses and now gets the opportunity to perform on the biggest platform in all of professional wrestling with arguably WWE's hottest brand, NXT.
