COVID-19 Tests Reportedly Given To All AEW Staff Ahead Of Live TV Taping

Big Thanks To Ryan Satin of The ProWrestling Sheet For This Article

As AEW prepares to resume live tapings of “Dynamite” from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville tonight, a city labor union has detailed the staunch safety precautions being taken. A Facebook post from the IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) in Jacksonville stated that COVID-19 Rapid Tests were given to every stagehand, road crew, venue staff and talent before entering the venue. Additionally, there are portable wash stations and hand sanitizer stations set up and employees will be required to wear masks and enforce social distancing. The post ends on a fairly ominous note: “We didn’t ask to be first but we are and we are working to keep it SAFE!” Prior to the return to Daily’s Place, AEW had relocated to The Nightmare Factory in Georgia to film content. As previously reported, Florida governor Rick DeSantis deemed sports with a national audience as an “essential service” last month, as long as shows are filmed without an audience, paving the way for AEW’s return. Stay-at-home orders in the state of Florida began lifting on Monday. As of May 5th, the state of Florida had 36,897 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 1,399 deaths. UPDATE: Tony Khan tweeted today saying all wrestlers and staff have tested negative for COVID-19.
