Last April, it was announced that longtime IMPACT Wrestling star Eli Drake had been fired from the promotion. There were several reasons for IMPACT deciding to cut ties with Drake, but the straw that broke the camel’s back was Drake refusing to work an inter-gender match with Tessa Blanchard.
Add that there were reports that Drake had heat with management, Drake’s release doesn’t come as too much of a surprise. Earlier today, Drake took to Twitter to officially announce his departure from IMPACT Wrestling, thanking those who he worked with for four years. He also attached his email for bookings, declaring he is now a free agent:
