Impact Wrestling officials are looking for a new home on cable TV for next year as the promotion’s TV deal with Pop TV expires at the end of 2018. It was recently reported that officials are searching for a new potential TV partner in the United States. Thus, if they can’t find a new partner, they won’t have a TV network to air their flagship show after December 31st in the states. We noted earlier on the site that Impact was recently moved to a later time slot at 10pm and viewership has suffered.
In an update, Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that although their deal with Pop expires on 12/31, it looks like they have gotten a short-term extension. It was noted that they are expected to stay on the network at least for early 2019.
According to the latest PWTorch Impact podcast, Impact Wrestling was having discussions with TruTV, Syfy and WGN, if they cant secure a deal with any of them then they will stay with Pop.
