The IndyPW.com team takes a look at several rumors and possible spoilers that could take place at WWE SummerSlam coming this Sunday, August 23, 2020, or after.
The Hair vs. Hair match between Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose has had a positive build for some months, it looks to culminate in a new look for Sonya Deville as she is rumored to lose the match to Mandy Rose with some shenanigans from Otis in the match. It's rumored that Vince McMahon is in favor to have Deville change her look as he believes the new look could be very intriguing to the fans.
Expect more matches to take place this weekend such as Matt Riddle vs. Baron Corbin, and the Riot Squad vs. The Iconics. A match that could very well take place during the reshow of SummerSlam. Another match could be between Mickie James and Natalya.
A major rumor that has been swirling around is the return of Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is rumored to return during the United States Title match between Apollo Crews and MVP where he would take out MVP and send a message to Bobby Lashley, leading to a match between the two monsters. This is a match that Bobby Lashley has been wanting since his return to WWE.
Asuka may become champion again at SummerSlam as it appears she may be losing to Bayley for the SmackDown women's title but win the Raw women's title from Sasha Banks after Bayley interferes in the match causing Sasha to lose. This should set up a program between Sasha and Bayley to then have a match down the road.
RETRIBUTION may very well interfere in one of the major title matches at SummerSlam and potentially reveal their identities with CM Punk returning to WWE as the leader of RETRIBUTION.
Dominik Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins looks to have either one of two things happen after the match. One could be that Dominik wins the match with help from Rey Mysterio or, that a Seth wins the match and gets Dominik to turn on his dad and join Seth Rollins.
Drew McIntyre vs. Randy looks to be leading to an Orton win. It looks like Edge could return to SummerSlam and could cause Drew McIntyre the title then reforming with Randy Orton to form Rated RKO. This reunion would be short-lived so that Edge can eventually turn on Orton down the road leading to the third match between the two at next years Wrestlemania. Another rumor has Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, and even Christian return to try and cause Randy Orton the win, however, all efforts could be futile as Orton would still be able to get the upper hand and find a way to beat McIntyre for the WWE Title.
The Fiend vs. Braun Strowman could see The Fiend win the title with help by Alexa Bliss, with a new look and wind up joining the Wyatt family alongside The Fiend. It's also being rumored that a new Wyatt family could form at SummerSlam with the returning Lars Sullivan and Bo Dallas, who could return as a Fiend look-alike.
Charlotte Flair could be returning at SummerSlam in some capacity and make it known that she will be challenging for one of the women's championships.
The return of Sami Zayn has been rumored as he may return to challenge AJ Styles for the Intercontinental Title that he never lost.
Tino Sabbatelli, who recently wrestled in an episode of AEW Dark, is rumored to be returning to WWE. Rumor has it that Triple H contacted Tino right after his match on Dark and offered him a spot on the NXT roster once again. Furthermore, a potential spot during the Pat McAfee / Adam Cole match involving Sabbatelli could happen.
Roman Reigns at SummerSlam or the SmackDown Live after SummerSlam and set up a program with The Fiend, which was a match that was supposed to take place at Wrestlemania 36.
