AEW Rampage Live Results (10/27/2023)

After weeks of animosity, Mike Santana and Ortiz look to settle their differences tonight as they will be going one-on-one in a No Disqualification Falls Count Anywhere Match. The former tag team partners have made their disdain for one another crystal clear over the past few weeks, exchanging several verbal jabs in the form of videos.

Hikaru Shida's next challenger for the AEW Women's World Championship will be determined tonight, as Abadon, Skye Blue, Willow Nightingale, and Anna Jay collide in a Four-Way Match with the winner receiving their shot during tomorrow night's edition of "AEW Collision". This will be Shida's second defense since dethroning Saraya on October 10, having successfully retained her title over Ruby Soho this past Wednesday on "AEW Dynamite".

Aussie Open's Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita will both be returning to competition tonight as they go head-to-head. Not only have Takeshita and Fletcher have faced off with one another in singles competition a handful of times prior to tonight, but the two teamed up on the October 4 episode of "Dynamite" in a losing effort to Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega.

Speaking of Omega, himself and AEW World Champion MJF both have something on their minds to share after agreeing to square off in a title match tomorrow night on "Collision."

We are live! Excalibur, Ian Riccaboni and Tony Schiavone greet audiences at home as Mike Santana and Ortiz are waiting in the ring.

Mike Santana vs. Ortiz in a No Disqualification Falls Count Anywhere Match

The bell rings and Santana lands a forearm. Ortiz catches him with a dropkick and goes flying out of the ring to level him on the outside. Ortiz rains down right hands and grabs the lid of a garbage can from under the ring. He cracks it across Santana's spine, then grabs the garbage can itself and does the same thing. He finds a kendo stick and cracks it across Santana's knee, then sends him crashing into the barricade and hits him with the garbage can once again.

Santana and Ortiz slap one another before Santana suplexes Ortiz back inside the ring. Ortiz slides back out of the ring, and Santana lands an Asai Moonsault. He hits Ortiz's head with the garbage can, but Ortiz powerbombs him through a table on the outside and tosses him back in the ring. He goes for a pin, but Santana kicks out and suplexes him off the apron and onto a pile of chairs on the outside.

Back from the break, Santana and Ortiz land headbutts on one another before exchanging right hand strikes in the center of the ring. Ortiz lands a German suplex, and Santana returns the favor. Ortiz lands a dropkick, but Santana catches him with a neckbreaker and sets up for a discus clothesline. Ortiz counters into a powerslam and a vertical suplex, then exchanges more strikes with Santana and rolls him up. Santana kicks out and lands a discus lariat, then delivers a cannonball and gets him up on his shoulders. He then plants him with a powerbomb for the win.

After the match, Santana looks to fist bump Ortiz but Ortiz declines to do so. Santana leaves as Sonjay Dutt makes his way into the ring to talk to Ortiz. The two head to the back together.

We then head over to a video hyping up the AEW World Championship match between MJF and Kenny Omega tomorrow night on "Collision", including clips from the two men addressing one another directly. Following the video, we see Kenny Omega being visited by Jay White and Don Callis offering the help of The Don Callis Family to MJF for the match, to which MJF assures him that he'll be fine on his own.

Back from the break, we see Kris Statlander confront Skye Blue and Willow Nightingale about their behavior after being sprayed with black mist by Julia Hart. Nightingale admits she's feeling weird but it hasn't affected who she is. Blue takes the opposite approach and insists that she's perfectly normal.

Back at ringside, Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford are waiting in the ring.

She takes turns landing strikes on both competitors in opposite corners, but Jay catches her with an elbow. Nightingale lands a shoulder pounce on Jay to level her until Blue delivers a crossbody to take out Nightingale. Nightingale delivers a spinebuster to Jay and goes for a pin, but Blue breaks the fall and sets up for Code Blue. Nightingale evades the maneuver and Blue sends her into the ringpost shoulder first.

Blue and Jay go after Abadon, but they land forearms on both women. Jay looks to lock in Queenslayer on Abadon, but Blue breaks the hold with a thrust kick and runs the ropes. Nightingale pulls Blue out of the ring and Jay looks to lock in the Queenslayer on Abadon. Abadon then connects with their finisher on Jay to pick up the win.

The pair get back in the ring, and Fletcher ascends to the top before landing a crossbody off the top. He looks to hit a Half and Half suplex, but Takeshita rolls through and lands a lariat that flattens Fletcher. Fletcher leaves the ring with the rest of the stable.
