IMPACT On AXS Tv Live Results (08/18/2022)


The show opens with a video package highlighting how Josh Alexander beat Alex Shelley in the main event of Emergence last week. We then take it to the ring for our opening X-Division contest.


Black Taurus vs. Laredo Kid vs. Rey Horus vs. Trey Miguel


Black Taurus is targeted right off the bat as the three men send him out of the ring. Laredo takes down Trey and Rey with arm drags before launching out onto Taurus. Rey and Trey work one on one. Taurus gets back in and nails Trey with a backbreaker. Laredo gets back in to mix it up with Trey. Trey hits a brainbuster for a nearfall. Horus flips off the ropes out onto Taurus and Trey before Laredo moonsaults onto all of them. Laredo lands a crucifix bomb on Taurus, and then Rey hits a tornado DDT. Laredo hits Trey with a big DDT before Taurus drivers Laredo into the mat for the three-count.


Winner: Black Taurus


Backstage, Swinger and Dice are watching footage of Killer Kelly. Tasha and Savannah walk up and Tasha asks Dice if he knows who she is. Kelly walks up, and Tasha changes her tune. Savannah steps in between them, which leads to Kelly issuing a challenge.


Elsewhere, Josh talks to Swann about a future world title match. Vincent interrupts and talks about Honor No More taking over.


Kenny King vs. Heath


These two waste no time in throwing arms. They spill to the outside as they go to break. As we return, Heath is locked up in a half nelson on the mat. Heath works his way out and delivers a free knee strikes, followed by a neckbreaker for a two. Vincent attempts to distract on the apron. King goes for a leap but Heath dodges. Heath hits Wake Up Call for the win.


Winner: Heath


After the bell, Honor No More circles the ring and beats Heath down. They eventually turn their attention to PCO, which allows Heath to hit Bennett with a Wake Up Call before retreating through the crowd.


Sabin consoles Shelley and Kushida over their losses at Emergence. Sabin announces the three of them will unite to face VBD next week.


OGK and Maria confront D’Amore about when they’re getting their tag title shot. D’Amore announces Karl Anderson vs. Mike Bennett for next week. If Anderson wins, Maria is banned from ringside during their title match.


Savannah Evans vs. Killer Kelly


Kelly jumps on Evans for a sleeper, but Evans bucks her off. Kelly dodges Evans briefly before unloading with chest punches. Evans gets tripped up in the corner where Kelly lands a dropkick to the face. Evans finds her footing and launches Kelly with a German suplex. Kelly hops on the back of Evans and takes her down with the Killer Clutch for the submission victory.


Winner: Killer Kelly


Rosemary talks to Taya and Jessicka about losing the tag titles. Jessicka announced she will have her “debut” match next week. Jessicka and Taya are ecstatic, but Rosemary breaks it up in the spirit of refocusing.


Gia Miller talks to Jordynne about Masha confronting her at Emergence. Jordynne says she’s ready for Masha. The champ also says Mia has all of her respect. Chelsea and Deonna interrupt and pick on her until Mia Yim intervenes. Mia says she’ll gladly stand by Jordynne’s side. Deonna accepts a challenge for a title match.


X-Division Championship: Mike Bailey (c) vs. Chris Bey


Bailey targets an arm of Bey before they have a stand off. They lock up again and trade shoulder tackles. Bailey dropkicks Bey who rolls out. They run around the outside until Bey leaps from the apron and back into the ring with a DDT on the champ. Bey front flips out of the ring so quickly he almost misses Bailey. Bey dropkicks Bailey on the top rope but misses a double stomp off the top. Bey catches Mike’s boot and lands a powerbomb, nearfall. Bailey finds his way back up and lands Ultimo Weapon for the win.


Winner: Mike Bailey (c)


Backstage, Bhupinder Gujjar shoves Brian Myers into a wall and says they’re far from over.

VBD vs. Time Machine (Kushida, Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)

Six-Way #1 Contender’s Match: Eddie Edwards vs. Steve Maclin vs. Rich Swann vs. Bandido vs. Sami Callihan vs. Moose


Bandido and Swann start the match until Eddie is the first to tag in on Bandido. Maclin and Moose team up to get rid of Sami first, only for Maclin to eliminate Moose right after. Bandido eliminates Maclin with a German suplex. Swann and Bandido duke it out until Eddie tags in on Swann. Eddie knocks Bandido down with a right hand. Swann and Bandido tangle again with more lucha action. Bandido hits a pop up cutter for a nearfall. Bandido is eliminated by Edwards, leaving it down to Swann and Edwards. Edwards managed to use a kendo stick behind the ref’s back, but it wasn’t enough. Edwards hit Boston Knee Party followed by Die Hard Driver to finally secure the win.


Winner: Eddie Edwards
